2 x Olympian Ernie Simon, Maitre d'Armes, had a vision: to put Australian fencing on the world map. His lifelong aim has been to raise Australian fencing to international standards, winning credibility and respect on the international fencing scene. In 1998 Ernie co-founded the Melbourne Fencing Centre (MFC) together with entrepreneur Patrick Lepicier.

Ernie's passion and love for fencing has already shaped history:

Ernie coached Seamus Robinson to become Australia’s first and only Cadet Épée World Champion in 1991. From 1999 to 2005, he also coached Vicky Wilks, who went on to become Australia’s first Veteran Épée World Champion in 2010.

At Melbourne Fencing Centre we come together at the highest level to teach excellence in fencing and inspire you to become the best you can be.
